A Change Ahead for PPL
After 16 rewarding years at Project for Pride in Living, I will be transitioning to lead the Minneapolis Downtown Council and Minneapolis Downtown Improvement District effective December 2nd of this year. Thank you for the support and partnership you have offered during my time at PPL. It has made a difference in the lives of thousands of people, and improved the quality of neighborhoods throughout the Twin Cities.
The most important thing for you to know as a PPL stakeholder is this. Project for Pride in Living, Inc. won’t miss a beat. There are already exciting project and program plans in place starting in 2014. We have a deeply experienced and long tenured senior leadership team along with a highly engaged and committed staff. Our board leaders are already focused on putting in place an interim executive management plan as well as a process to identify the next executive director of PPL, which they expect to finalize at a November 6th board meeting.
Over 41 years PPL has grown to be one of the most respected and effective community organizations around. Our induction earlier in October, as an organization, into the Local Initiative Support Corporation’s “Community Development Hall of Fame” is a recent affirmation of PPL’s work. It has been an honor to be part of that work. I’ll look forward from my new position – and as a lifelong PPL supporter – to their exciting activities which lie ahead.
