Classroom time: 
4 week program that includes a 2 week internship
Topics covered: 

Soft skills, computer, effective resume and internet job search, effective workplace communication, professionalism, medical terminology and electronic health records.

Length: 
4 weeks, Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Stipend: 
Monetary award upon successful completion of program.
Internship: 

Two week opportunity of an on the job internship in a healthcare setting. Internship hours may vary.

Yes
Retention services for those placed: 
12 months for all program graduates.

How to apply: 

Attend an information session. They are conducted every Monday at 9:00am at the PPL Learning Center. (No appointment required. Must have HS Diploma or GED.) Complete a typing and basic computer skills (MS Word 2007) offered immediately following Information Session at 10:00am.
Complete an Adult Basic Skills assessment Tuesday at 9:00am
Interview with Train to Work staff. Interviews assess attitude, life goals, availability, and past work experiences.

Be eligible to work in a healthcare setting, pass criminal background check
Additional information: 

To be offered a Trainee position in healthcare you must provide proof of or obtain up-to-date immunizations of the following before training: Hepatitis B, MMR, Mantoux (Mantoux within the past 6 months) and documentation of Chicken Pox immunity.
