Peer parent support and education for young fathers

Young Fathers Group meets in St. Paul. It is primarily for fathers between the ages of 15 and 27 with children aged 5 or under.

  • Group is FREE to any young father in the East Metro area.
  • Transportation provided to/from home.
  • Fathers are encouraged to bring their child(ren) if at all possible.
  • A meal is provided at every session.
Dates: 
Sessions are on-going throughout the year.
Topics covered: 

Developing Values in Children, Dealing with Children’s behavior, Understanding male/female relationships, Handling Conflict on the job, Understanding Child Support. ALSO fathers receive assistance with referrals for employment, child support enforcement, establishing paternity, as well as advocacy and support for their developing father skills.

Length: 
Weekly on Thursday evenings, over 8 months.
