Family Support
At the heart of PPL’s work is helping people work toward self-sufficiency. We connect with the families through our housing and partner organizations and develop one-to-one relationships through customized and comprehensive services that help people build brighter, stable futures and stronger communities.
Support Services: A wide range of services are provided free of charge to residents in PPL housing, and individuals and families involved in other PPL programs, from community building efforts and immigrant-focused workshops, to yearlong academic youth programming, personal coaching, and intensive supportive housing.
PPL MFIP Programs: PPL’s Connections to Work and ChangePoints are two referral-based programs for families participating in Hennepin County MFIP (Minnesota Family Investment Program).

Services Transition Helps Families Impacted by Homelessness
Located in the Phillips neighborhood of Minneapolis, Collaborative Village opened in 2004 to provide 20 long-term homeless families with safe and stable housing and a wealth of on-site services. Since Collaborative Village’s opening, PPL has contracted with Emerge, a community partner, to bring their supportive services expertise on-site to residents. In late October 2010, Emerge transitioned to focus on community need in north Minneapolis. MORE >>
