Support Services

PPL offers a variety of onsite services designed to help residents in our quality affordable housing become self-sufficient. We connect people to basic needs, tools they need to maintain stable housing, and their community. Our integrated services put us in a unique position to help residents build brighter, more stable futures.

Innovative staff meet one-to-one with participants in customizing a set of services based on personal or household needs. Each person has a voice in his or her journey towards self-sufficiency, and each journey is mapped at a pace that feels right.

Self-Sufficiency Program
PPL learned early on that people and families need more than just a place to live: the journey towards self-reliance depends on a network of advocates and support. Self-Sufficiency Program participants gain access to a wealth of stabilizing resources including financial, health and wellness, and life skills coaching; as well as mobile computer lab access and child development services.

New Foundations: A PPL Program
New Foundations: A PPL Program works with whole families in permanent, supportive housing. We believe that part of learning to be more self-sufficient is learning how to develop and respect family relationships. Services target and address issues around holistic health and the importance of community involvement. Adult participants gain parenting skills, children are reunited with their parents, and communities grow in strength and vibrancy.

Cabrini Partnership: A PPL Program
Cabrini Partnership: A PPL Program provides transitional housing and permanent supportive housing services across the Twin Cities. Services are designed to help individuals manage mental health, maintain sobriety, and break the cycle of homelessness.

Transitional housing services offer residents the opportunity to live in a truly supportive community. They share household duties and meet each week to talk about the challenges and celebrate the successes that come with building a safe, sober life. As they gain stability, participants are encouraged to get involved in the larger community, further strengthening their journey towards self-sufficiency.

Residents of permanent supportive housing learn the importance of building relationships from the moment they move in. They not only set life-changing goals with program staff; but they learn to develop a wider support system of neighbors, friends, and others in the community.
