PPL Property Management support services
Supportive housing management is complex. As supportive service organizations assist residents in succeeding, they also add another layer of people to the management-tenant relationship.
PPL's service provider often has a better understanding of a resident’s situation – they know whether someone has dropped out of the program or is simply struggling and in need of emergency assistance, and can ensure the most effective response is made as quickly as possible. One solution PPL has worked out with a service provider is to have on-site property manager hours twice weekly, sharing the same office as the service provider, in order to facilitate communication between the organizations. |
PPL’s Property Management
Department is experienced in providing management to supportive housing
projects. Supportive housing is housing linked with services that serve
the unique needs of the residents.
PMD begins with sensitivity to the unique population and building a strong
partnership with service providers. Every supportive housing partnership
is unique, requiring a close relationship with the service provider,
a clear understanding of how responsibilities are shared, and explicit
lines of communication. These partnerships have included different ownership
structures and many partners.
PMD currently
provides property management services supporting people in a variety of
situations:
- Single mothers with chemical dependency issues
- Women recently released from incarcerations, being reunited with
their children
- Transitional housing for families with HIV/AIDS
- Homeless Native Americans with chemical dependency issues
