Thirty-five families have moved into Charlotte Commons, the first of two supportive rental buildings in the Van Cleve Development – PPL’s largest development to date.
The other, a 50-unit building, is currently underway. Combined, twenty units in these buildings will house long-term homeless individuals served by Cabrini Partnership, PPL’s development partner. PPL will provide a variety of self-sufficiency services to the remaining residents.
Van Cleve Development involves 236 units on a four-acre former grain elevator site near 13th Avenue Southeast and Como Avenue in Minneapolis. Habitat for Humanity is currently building five townhomes. Subsequent phases include more rental units and 151 for-sale condominiums/townhomes/lofts.
