Health Careers Partnership (HCP)

HCP introduces a market-based approach to workforce training and education where PPL acts as broker between employers and colleges:

• Analyzing specific job needs within the hospitals
• Designing career ladders around these needs
• Providing information to Minneapolis Community and Technical College where curriculum can support educational advancement along these career ladders
• Recruiting efforts targeted at particular at-risk populations who are prospective students and employees.

• Meeting the employment needs of the health care industry by recruiting and training people for medical career paths

MCTC is the tenth largest post-secondary institution in Minnesota, and the only public two-year college located in the heart of downtown Minneapolis.   MCTC has a strong record of serving under-served urban residents.   MCTC is the most ethnically diverse college in the state, forty percent of students reside in at-risk Minneapolis neighborhoods.
