Train to Work prepares inner-city neighborhood residents for entry-level positions in the health care and hospitality industries; positions that offer career growth opportunities.   Through Train to Work's 20-month program model, PPL provides assessment, paid work readiness training, and long-term follow-up to disadvantaged job seekers.  

The program design combines a better understanding of individual interests and abilities, universal soft-skills training, and on-the-job training, thereby facilitating more effective matching of individuals to jobs with increased job retention.

Train to Work provides access to jobs while at the same time assisting local employers - such as Abbott Northwestern Hospital, Children's Hospitals, Hennepin County Medical Center, North Memorial Hospital and others -with their entry-level staffing needs.
