Employment Training Programs

PPL Learning Center

  • The Community Access Lab can help you improve your computer skills as you search for employment.
  • Train to Work is a 4-week paid training program designed to prepare employable individuals for careers in area hospitals.
  • Health Careers Partnership is a tuition loan program for current hospital employees.

PPL Industries

PPL Industries contracts with metro businesses to do labor intensive handwork and teach basic employment skills to adults with social and economic barriers to steady mainstream employment. PPL Industries offers a long-term training program, with opportunities for individual career development. Click here to read more.

PPL SHOP

PPL SHOP is a retail store located in NE Minneapolis. It sells new and used office and home furniture, building materials, clothes, and more. PPL SHOP offers a 6-10 month training program, with the opportunity to earn your GED. Limited positions available. Click here to read more.

Affordable Housing

PPL owns or manages nearly 770 units of affordable rental housing located in Minneapolis, St. Paul, St. Louis Park, and New Hope. Apartment sizes range from efficiencies to four bedrooms.

You can meet with a PPL Housing Specialist to determine if you qualify for PPL housing. Housing Specialists are available Monday - Friday from 9-11 AM and 1-3 PM. Visit the PPL Service Center at 1035 E. Franklin Avenue, or call 612.455.5100 to make an appointment.
