PPL's Young Fathers Program

Helping young fathers strengthen their relationship with their children by building strong life, parenting, education, and employment skills to be the father their children need them to be.

PPL offers a weekly Young Fathers Group in St. Paul that meets on Thursday evenings from 6:30-8:30pm and is directed at fathers between the ages of 15 and 27 with children aged 5 or under.

  • Group is FREE to any young father in the East Metro area.
  • Transportation provided to/from home.
  • Fathers are encouraged to bring their child(ren) if at all possible.
  • A meal is provided at every session.
  • Curriculum covers a wide range of topics including Developing Values in Children, Dealing with Children's behavior, Understanding male/female relationships, Handling Conflict on the job, Understanding Child Support.
  • The curriculum covers 8 months but sessions are on-going throughout the year.
  • Fathers also receive assistance with referrals for employment, child support enforcement, establishing paternity, as well as advocacy and support for their developing father skills.
