Human Services Summary PPL‘s Human Services Division supports families, adults and children — on a direct, flexible, individual basis — in setting goals, finding resources and building the skills they need to be self-sufficient. Services include career and education counseling, employment-readiness classes, housing stabilization, parenting information, budget planning, youth programs and referrals to other community agencies. Programs PPL’s
Self-Sufficiency Program (SSP) provides participants a
range of support services and links to community resources that promote
positive life steps. Staff works onsite in PPL housing units, building
ongoing relationships with residents. Nonresidents meet at the Service
Center for assistance. PPL’s
Connections to Work (CTW) is a Minnesota Family Investment
Program (MFIP) Employment Services Provider. CTW provides comprehensive
skill assessment, employment plans, job goals, placement and retention
services, and case management to help MFIP participants move from public
assistance to self-sufficiency. Youth Development helps children and youth build the skills they need to thrive and become contributing members of their communities. Programming is mentor-rich with a focus on parent involvement, volunteer service and academic achievement.
