Tutor/Mentor
Spend time with one or two youth, two hours a week October - May.
Homework ‘n’ Hoops (grades 2-6): Nurture the fun of learning by mentoring one youth, engaging her/his young participant in homework and enrichment activities, and play together in the gym and game room.
Our professional staff is on site at all times to provide support.
- Bethlehem Community Center. Mon & Wed 3:30-5:30 or Tue & Thu 6:30-8:30.
PPL Scholars (grades K-5) and PPL Leaders (grades 6-8) Provide homework help, support progress in core academic subjects, explore new subjects and participate in fun enrichment activities. Staff and licensed teachers are available on-site to support tutors.
- PPL Housing, Mon or Tues 4:30 to 6:30
- Partnership Academy, all school days, 4:30 6:00.

School hour opportunties at Partnership Academy charter school with K-6 grade urban students.
Location: 305 E. 77th Street, Richfield (2 blocks from the corner of 494 and Nicollet Ave)
Lunch Buddy
Eat lunch and enjoy recess with a student. Commit 40 minutes per week during your lunch hour for the school year. Opportunities are available between 11:10-2:10.
Classroom Aid
Support & assist a K-6 teacher with classroom organization. Work directly with students in various capacities throughout the day. Commit 1-3 hours a week. Opportunities are available between the hours of 9:00 4:30.
Reading Listener
Support literacy skill development by reading aloud one on-one with students. Commit 1-3 hours a week. Opportunities are available between the hours of 9:00-4:30

Lead and Teach:
Student Success Supporter Promote the adventure of learning in a variety of ways at Homework ‘n’ Hoops program as Art/Science Project Leader, Game Master, Resource Coordinator, Computer Lab Guide, and Store manager. Commit two hours per week October thru May (Store Manager is only 2-3 times). Opportunities are available Mon & Wed 3:30-5:30 and Tue & Thu 6:30-8:30. Location:

Project Coaches Facilitate small groups of youth, engaging and guiding them in learning adventures in our Summer Educational Enrichment Day Camp. We do reading club, science projects, visual/manual/performing arts projects, and fieldtrips. Commit 3 hours per week mid-June thru mid-August. Opportunities are available Mon-Thu, 9 AM -12 noon OR 12 noon - 3 PM

PPL Leaders and Scholars Group Assistants - Serve as a positive role model while supervising fun enrichment activities, field trips, and service projects with PPL youth. Tech Time Volunteer Support PPL Scholars participants (grades 1-5) in developing basic computer skills. Volunteers are needed to assist staff in guiding students through a group calendar project that utilizes Microsoft Office applications and the internet. Adult Programs
Tutor adult job trainees
At PPL Industries Job Training Program, tutor an adult job trainee who is studying for his/her Graduate Equivalency Exam (GED) or needs help with Adult Basic Education, introduction to computer use, or English Language Learners (ELL). Training is provided Hours: Flexible, one-hour sessions, M-F, 8:30am - 4:00pm Location: 1179 15th Ave SE (1 block north of E. Hennepin in Minneapolis)
Mock Interviewer
Assist Train to Work class participants with work readiness skills by conducting mock interviews and providing them with encouraging, constructive feedback. Hours: As part of our pool of interviewers, you will be called bi-monthly to see if interview times fit your schedule, usually T-Th from 9-11 AM.
Computer Class Teaching Assistant
Assist PPL staff in teaching a variety of introductory and intermediate computer-skills classes and workshops for adults seeking improved employability. Offer support and guidance to PPL participants in their job-seeking process. Hours: Class times vary, usually weekdays during the hours of 9 AM - 4 PM.
Job Search Coach
Staff shifts in PPL's Community Access Computer Lab. Work one-on-one with participants to teach them basic computer skills and to offer support and guidance in their job-seeking process such as searching for and filling out job applications on-line and creating resumes. Hours : Flexible hours M - F between 9 AM - 4 PM.
Fix It! Multi-Family Housing Repair
Work with a retiree volunteer leader on multi-family housing repairs in Minneapolis. No formal experience needed. Set your hours on Tues or Thurs mornings with a start time of 8:00am.

Assist us in communicating activities and results of PPL programs through photos. Take pictures of program activities.
