School-Year Programs

Youth Success school-year programs provide free, out-of-school activities, and tutoring and mentoring opportunities

Throughout the school year, students can take part in a variety of tutoring programs that offer strong mentor relationships, help from a licensed teachers, and enrichment activities foster social acumen and civic awareness. Participants may join one of these programs for the entire school year.

ELEMENTARY SCHOOL PROGRAMS

Homework ‘n’ Hoops- Elementary kids are paired with a tutor, meeting twice a week throughout the school year for homework help and recreation time.

PPL Scholars Parents, teachers, volunteers and PPL AmeriCorps staff work together to create a caring environment that enhances academic and social skill development for elementary school kids in PPL service areas, including Partnership Academy.

College House – Elementary school kids are paired with college students who are living in a PPL-managed building, each serving as a tutor and positive role model throughout the school year. (more…)

Lunch and Reading Buddies Once a week, throughout the year, students meet with same volunteer for lunch or reading.

MIDDLE-SCHOOL PROGRAMS

PPL Leaders Parents, youth, teachers, volunteers and PPL AmeriCorps staff work together to help young teens mature and learn, while having fun.

College House Middle School kids are paired with college students who are
living in a PPL-managed building, each serving as a tutor and positive role model
