School-Year Programs

Youth Success school-year programs provide free, out-of-school activities, and tutoring and mentoring opportunities

Throughout the school year, students can take part in a variety of tutoring programs that offer strong mentor relationships, help from a licensed teachers, and enrichment activities foster social acumen and civic awareness. Participants may join one of these programs for the entire school year.

ELEMENTARY SCHOOL PROGRAMS

Homework ‘n’ Hoops- Young students are paired with a tutor, meeting twice a week throughout the school year for homework help and recreation time.

PPL Scholars Young students develop academically and socially in a caring environment. Activities bring them together with parents, teachers, volunteers and PPL AmeriCorps. Open to participants in all PPL service areas, including Partnership Academy.

College House – Young students are paired with college students who are living in a PPL-managed building, each serving as a tutor and positive role model throughout the school year. (more…)

Lunch and Reading Buddies Once a week, throughout the year, students meet with same volunteer for lunch or reading.

MIDDLE-SCHOOL PROGRAMS

PPL Leaders Young teens mature and learn, while having fun. Activities bring kids together with parents, teachers, volunteers and PPL AmeriCorps staff.

College House Middle school-aged kids are paired with college students who are
living in a PPL-managed building, each serving as a tutor and positive role model
