Early Childhood Screening

Screening is one of the steps you take to prepare your child for kindergarten and it is required by state law. Screening is free and includes vision, hearing, height, weight, development, speech, social/emotional, and review of health and immunization information.

Screening is best done at age 3 to assist children to be ready for school, and so any health or developmental concerns can be found earlier and help can be provided sooner. If you are concerned about your child’s growth and development, screening can be done before age 3.

Screening is done through local school districts; call your area school to sign up.
