About the Program

What jobs will I be prepared for?

Following completion of the program and a paid externship with one of our employer partners, you will be prepared to take the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) exam. Participants will be prepared to work in retail, hospital, and clinic settings.

What skills and certifications will I obtain?

During the training, program participants will be supported by Minneapolis College in navigating topics such as drug regulation and control, common drugs and their uses, and math skills review. Participants will prepare to earn their PTCB certification and their MN Board of Pharmacy license. PPL also supports participants through trainings on transferable skills such as resume writing, interviewing, customer service, and financial literacy.

What other opportunities are included?

Your paid externship with one of our employer partners will provide you with valuable experience in a pharmacy setting.

Qualifications for Participation

  • 1 year customer service experience
  • High school diploma or GED
  • At least 18 years of age
  • Right to work in the United States
  • Proficient math and reading skills
  • Basic Microsoft Excel skills
