Minneapolis, MN - The recent presence of ICE and border enforcement agents in the Twin Cities and across Minnesota has cast a deep and painful ripple through the communities we serve.

The impact has been immediate and significant. It has disrupted daily life, heightening fear, and shaking the sense of safety that every person deserves. For many families, this moment is not simply about enforcement activity; it is a challenge to their stability, dignity, and ability to move through their lives without fear.

For more than 50 years, Project for Pride in Living (PPL), has been committed to creating places for people to live and pathways for them to thrive. That work does not know gender, race or ethnicity. It is grounded in the belief that every person deserves stability, dignity and opportunity. Yet at this moment, the very communities we serve and the work we do are being directly impacted by fear and uncertainty.

We recognize the emotional, practical and lasting effects ICE presence has on many communities. Families may feel unsafe leaving their homes. Residents may hesitate to seek services. Children may carry stress that no young person should have to bear. These attacks strike at the core of the stability and belonging we strive to build every day.

As a community-first organization, we remain committed to providing clarity, compassion and dependable support. Our teams are working closely with trusted partners to help ensure our housing, programs and campuses remain welcoming and secure for all.

We stand with our local and state leadership in vehemently objecting to the nature of the current ICE activity in our communities. These actions cause real harm and undermine the trust and sense of safety that organizations like ours work tirelessly to build.

We are committed to navigating this together. No one should face fear or uncertainty alone, and we will continue standing with residents, participants, young people and staff today and every day.
